Taoist Celestial Sword is a Temple reminder of Life's Struggles
Enlightenment addresses the natural human desire for guidance and understanding in the ways that the world operates. This search for counsel often includes a quest for developing so called, "spirituality". Unfortunately, in today's culture, the term "spirituality" is used liberally without a concrete definition. This allows legitimate religious and academic organizations as well as charlatans, the freedom to promote ill conceived concepts to the detriment of their students who are pursuing a noble quest. It is disappointing that some of the world's leading institutions are guilty of the gravest of Taoist sins - confusion.
Our Temple's dedication to the practical application of Taoism means that it can not allow any confusion of terminology - especially in a core issue like defining the objective of a spiritual search. Therefore, we define "spirituality" as follows:
The ability to perceive the world as it really exists, understand your limitations and see life's path with clarity and simplicity."
